The Low Maintenance Girl: Make Up Routine and Essentials August 2018

This is the final post of my first trilogy The Low Maintenance Girl. As you can probably tell from the contents of my make up bag much like my haircare  and skincare  routine, I like to keep it simple. I generally only wear makeup during the week as I like to let my skin breathe over the weekend. Or that's what I tell myself! The truth as much as I love wearing makeup, sometimes, I just don't feel like wearing it. So I start by curling my eyelashes using my Rose Gold Eyelash curler from Primark. This makes such a difference making my eyelashes longer and my eyes appear brighter. I then apply the Kiss x Prime Of Your Life Primer (which at £4 from Wilkos is a bargain) under my eyes. This primer has a watery texture and doesn't feel silicone like which I hate the feeling of. This primer allows my concealer to apply smoothly and stay on all day. I then apply my trusty Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in the colour Fair. Anyone who spends any time ...

The Low Maintenance Girl: Morning and Evening Skincare Routine

Welcome to part two of my first trilogy, The Low Maintenance Girl (yay!). Don't forget to check out part one for my low maintenance haircare routine . Here is my simple yet effective skincare routine for the low maintenance girl. I would describe my skin as a combination with the occasional hormonal breakout. All I want is clear skin!  In the morning I use No7 Beautiful Skin Foaming Cleanser and my No7 facial brush. The cleanser is liquid in the bottle and comes out as a foam which can only be explained by magic! I move the facial brush over my face in circular motions. Before washing off the cleanser with a flannel soaked in warm water. This leaves my skin feeling fresh, soft and removes any excess oils. I then finish with Nivea Daily Essentials Rich Moisturising Day cream which has a light fragrance, sinks in quickly (I can almost feel my skin drinking up the hydrating goodness) and has SPF 15 to protect my skin from the sun. In the evening ...

The Low Maintenance Girl: Haircare Routine

Welcome to the part one of my first blog trilogy! The Low Maintenance Girl series is going to discuss my haircare, skincare and makeup routine. I am a low maintenance girl so I have perfected by beauty routine with the aim of little effort but maximum result! I do love to look after my hair, it makes my hair feel nice and swishy and in turn, helps my confidence. My main hair problems are sensitive scalp and dry hair. My sensitive scalp is probably due to having eczema and my dry hair probably partly causes my hair is highlighted and partly the air con in my office (I don't know if that is a possible reason but I swear my hair has got worse since the office increased the aircon!). So these are the areas are tackle with my hair care routine. I know this may sound gross to some of you but I only wash my hair once maybe twice a week. My hair used to get greasy (thank you dry shampoo!) but now it is used to be washed less. Greasy hair is the result...

Bargain Beauty: Collection Two Step Solar Shine Gel Nail Polish Review

From top left clockwise Caribbean Crush 4, Sultry Sorrento 6, Sunset Pink 5, Oyster Pearl 2, Mauve Haze 7, Biarritz Blitz 9, Dreaming Days 8 and Just Beachy 3. The centre is the Top Coat 1. Day One vs Day Five (Colour Sultry Sorrento) Collection Solar Shine Polishes are my favourite nail polishes by far! I only wear these colours in rotation. The perfect size brush which makes painting your nails easy. All the colours are bold with only two coats and the top coat dries quickly within half an hour. I love this as I am the worse of smudging my nail polish! Normally reaching for food! I do love and own most of the colours, except for a bright green (called Jungle Fever) which is not for me. They are all from the same vain with Mauve Haze and Dreaming Daze being very similar. Probably didn’t need both but I had to collect them all! I would like to see a wide variety of colours such as a bright red and a nude. Maybe even a glitter nail polish. The finish is s...

Little Mix Perfumes: Gold Magic and Wish Maker Review

Who else doesn’t feel completely ready to go out without putting on a couple of spritz of perfume? Here are two of my favourite perfumes both by Little Mix.  Gold Magic This is my second bottle of Gold Magic which tells you how much I love it! I wear this scent all year round. It smells like green apples with an undertone of vanilla, creating a fresh yet zingy scent. The scent lasts for ages and I have been complimented on this fragrance several times. They are always surprised when I tell them it’s a Little Mix perfume and not an expensive brand.  The bottle is simple and classic making it look more expensive than it actually is. Wish Maker This sent takes me back to my childhood as it reminds me of parma violets sweets. The sent has a musky tone preventing it from being too sweet. The scent doesn’t last as long as the Gold Magic but makes the perfect evening perfume. What is your favourite perfume? Love, E. x
