Favourite Teas August 2018

What is nicer than sitting down after a long day with a cup of tea and a sweet treat? (perhaps a Booja-Booja truffle! see review here: https://bit.ly/2vw8BBg). Here are my top five favourite teas at the moment.

Irish Breakfast- Barry's Tea
I buy this Irish tea from the world foods section of my supermarket. For years I didn't drink breakfast tea as to me it tasted like dishwater. How very un-British of me! That was until earlier this year when I tried Barry's Tea. Barry's tea tastes stronger than other breakfast teas I have tried and it has a sweet yet earthy taste. The perfect drink for a quiet evening in.

Bedtime Infusion- Sainsbury's

I brought this tea when I had trouble sleeping with my anxiety. The tea itself tastes like sweet camomile and smells like lavender. The whole experience of drinking this tea very calming and is the perfect way to wind down after a busy day or went I feel on edge.

Pure Peppermint- Twinings
Peppermint tea is the tea I drink most often as it is refreshing, helps digestions and is a great way to increase your water intake. Twinings Peppermint tea is the best basic peppermint tea I have tried. It has a strong mint flavour without being overpowering (no one wants their tea to taste like toothpaste!) and leaves me feeling refreshed. I often drink this tea after a meal as it aids digestion.

Butter Mint- Twinings
This tea makes a delicious change from my normal peppermint tea. It tastes like an peppermint with a hint of vanilla. The vanilla gives an almost creamy taste much like a murry mint.

What is your favourite tea?

Love,

E. x

Food Friday's LSE Garrick Cafe

Every Friday, I treat myself to lunch out. Not only do I get to explore different places to eat but also it's nice to get outside on my lunch break.  So, I wanted to do a weekly post about where I eat and what I eat.  Today I went to eat at LSE Garrick Café. I have gone here a few times as it is often quieter than other parts cafes in London. LSE Garrick cafe as you would suspect is popular with students but is open to the general public. They offer delicious salads, gluten free cakes, cakes, pastries and teas. The café has large windows which not only make the place light and airy but also makes the perfect spot for people watching! A guilty pleasure of mine. I had planned to walk around afterwards but sadly it was chucking it down with rain. Today I had a: Sweet Chilli Salmon Salad, Gluten Free Bakewell Cake Slice and a Peppermint tea.  Costs: £8:20 Where is your favourite place to eat and what do you have?  Love,  E.x

Booja-Booja Fine De Champagne Truffles Review

Now, who doesn't love chocolate? I certainly do! Though, I try not to eat it too often partly because I know it is not good for you and partly because dairy can make me bloat (attractive, I know!!). These Booja-Booja Fine De Champagne Truffles are by far my favourite chocolate treat. They are dairy-free and only contain six natural ingredients. Unlike most dairy-free chocolates I have tried these actually melt in your mouth and have a smooth centre similar to the creamy and smooth centre of Lindt truffles. The light champagne taste is subtle and comes as more of a refreshing aftertaste. It takes a lot of willpower for me not to eat the whole box in one sitting! The packaging is also beautiful making them a lovely gift for friends, family and even for yourself!  What is your favourite sweet treat?  Love,  E. x

The Low Maintenance Girl: Morning and Evening Skincare Routine

Welcome to part two of my first trilogy, The Low Maintenance Girl (yay!). Don't forget to check out part one for my low maintenance haircare routine . Here is my simple yet effective skincare routine for the low maintenance girl. I would describe my skin as a combination with the occasional hormonal breakout. All I want is clear skin!  In the morning I use No7 Beautiful Skin Foaming Cleanser and my No7 facial brush. The cleanser is liquid in the bottle and comes out as a foam which can only be explained by magic! I move the facial brush over my face in circular motions. Before washing off the cleanser with a flannel soaked in warm water. This leaves my skin feeling fresh, soft and removes any excess oils. I then finish with Nivea Daily Essentials Rich Moisturising Day cream which has a light fragrance, sinks in quickly (I can almost feel my skin drinking up the hydrating goodness) and has SPF 15 to protect my skin from the sun. In the evening ...
